The Goodness Bowls Concept and Offerings

SMB Franchise Advisors: In a few sentences, describe what your brand offers and what your company is all about.

Corinne Persichetti, Co-Founder: Our brand is called Goodness Bowls, and we are a healthy eats café built on a holistic approach to eating. We offer fast-casual dining in a positive environment with excellent customer service. Our operations are designed to be accessible to people with dietary restrictions, offering customizable foods for various allergies and preferences.

SMB: What makes your restaurant concept unique in today’s market?

Corinne: Today’s market is increasingly focused on healthy eating, and what makes us unique is our operations that cater to everyone’s unique dietary needs. We emphasize the “eat good, feel good, do good” philosophy, with community outreach being a core part of our marketing strategy.

SMB: How do you maintain product quality standards across locations?

Corinne: Communication is key for us. We have a weekly newsletter to emphasize quality standards and a full-time support person for franchisees. We believe in the owner-operator methodology, which helps us maintain quality control.

Franchising Goodness Bowls

SMB: What inspired you to franchise your business?

Corinne: We decided to franchise our restaurant after constantly noticing that there was a gap in the quick service restaurant space. Our customers would continuously come into our Avalon location, and then the Villanova location, mentioning that there was simply no other healthy eats café that compares to ours. There are many places where a customer can get a great salad, but can they also get an equally great fresh, cold-pressed juice or 100% real fruit smoothie to pair with that salad? Not only does our concept provide a large and diverse menu that offers something for everyone, but the atmosphere and experience we provide for our customers are also unique in the quick service restaurant space. We treat every customer like they are a regular. We strive to make everyone who walks through our door feel noticed, welcomed, and happier than they were before entering our space. Whether it’s the upbeat music, the warm and inviting decor, or the welcoming smiles and greetings from one of our team members. We knew our healthy eats café was one-of-a-kind, and that there was a need for Goodness Bowls in many towns, cities, and states. This ultimately led to our decision to franchise and bring “Goodness” to as many people as possible!

SMB: Why did you partner with SMB Franchise Advisors?

Corinne: We chose SMB because they are the kind of people who care. SMB made us feel like part of their family, always offering support and rooting for our success. From the very beginning, they were transparent about the challenges of franchising, and their honesty resonated with us. It was comforting to know that we had a partner who genuinely cared about our growth and was committed to being there for us at every stage of our journey.

Goodness Bowls Growth and Vision for the Future

SMB: How many stores did you have before SMB? How many locations have you grown to since partnering with SMB?

Susan Persichetti, Co-Founder: We had two stores before partnering with SMB, and we have grown to five locations since then.

SMB: What are your long-term goals for your franchise? How many locations do you hope to grow to?

Susan: Our goal this year is to sign five more locations, but overall, the sky is the limit for us. We are deeply committed to growing responsibly, ensuring that each new franchisee aligns with our core ethics, values, and passions. It’s important to us that we maintain the integrity of our brand, and we refuse to compromise on these principles just for the sake of expansion. We believe that by fostering strong partnerships with like-minded individuals, we can achieve sustainable and meaningful growth.

SMB: What qualities do you look for in successful franchisee candidates?

Corinne: When meeting potential franchisee candidates, we seek like-minded individuals who have a passion for healthier eating and living, as well as an uplifting and positive perspective on life. We know a candidate will be a successful franchisee when our concept clearly resonates with them, and they embody the same attitude, mission, vision, and values that we do. The Goodness Bowls lifestyle is not solely about food. It is about fueling your body with healthier options, feeling good about the food you consume, and putting good energy into the universe. When candidates are passionate about this way of life, they will 100% be a successful Goodness Bowls franchisee.

Goodness Bowls Insights and Advice

SMB: What advice do you have for business owners looking to franchise?

Corinne: My advice to business owners considering franchising is to go in with your eyes wide open. Franchising is a significant commitment that requires time, money, and patience. It’s not just about setting up your FDD and getting the initial training done; it’s a continuous journey. You need the tenacity to see it through and be prepared for the challenges along the way. Success comes from hard work and a long-term vision, and it’s crucial to be ready for that journey.

SMB: Is there anything else you would like us to share about your brand?

Corinne: Our brand is built on a thoughtful roadmap strategy that prioritizes sustainable growth and community building. We are committed to ensuring that our first ten locations are not only successful but also embody the passion and enjoyment that we believe in. Our aim is to create a brand that not only feels good and does good but also grows thoughtfully, with each step carefully planned to ensure long-term success. We want everyone involved to be part of this exciting journey, enjoying every moment and achieving success along the way.
