John Miller assists our emerging and growing franchisors by analyzing financials to determine an accurate portrayal of franchise unit economics helping to develop their Item 19, Financial Performance Representation, for their Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). He also provides assistance with financial projections mapping out potential future growth of the franchise system.
John has more than 25 years’ experience in finance and accounting. Prior to joining the SMB team, John was the Chief Financial Officer at K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel for 3 years. He has held c-suite and senior level roles with the responsibility of oversight and financial standing during high growth phases of franchise and non-franchised brands. His duties related to company performance, internal controls, capital expenditure analysis, pricing models, contract negotiations for rebates and commissions, as well as directing annual financial statements in preparation for FDD renewals and tax filings. John is experienced in working with private equity, investment and commercial banks providing guidance through critical financial stages of business growth, from start-ups to scaled enterprises. With his wide ranging experience in franchising, non-profit, telecom and realty, he provides the expertise franchisors need at all levels of development.
Franchising is infinitely interesting to him because of the continually changing trends and the wide variety of businesses involved. He earned his MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Saint Peter’s University.
